- Prepare the Space
The first step is removing the existing fireplace components, such as doors, screens, logs, and grates. As the homeowner, you’ll need to move any furniture, decor, rugs and other home elements on the hearth or near the fireplace ahead of time.
- Run Electrical Wiring
Gas inserts require electricity so we will set up an outlet within the fireplace. Depending on your home’s layout, this might involve pulling power from a nearby outlet or wiring from further away. - Install the Gas Line
A gas line is run from the nearest source—typically a gas meter or utility room—to the fireplace insert. The line’s length can vary greatly, depending on the location. Once installed, a pressure test ensures the line meets safety standards, followed by an inspection for compliance with local codes. - Drop the Vent Liner
